The Countdown Begins...New Thing #1

It's my birthday!!!! :) Okay, now that that is out of the way, hi, and welcome to my blog. Most of you already know what this is about, but in case you don't, here's the rundown. Starting this week, I will be trying one new thing per week until I turn 30. It's my way of rounding out my 20's and preparing for the dreaded 3-0. I can't take credit for the idea though. There is actually another girl on this website that came up with the idea to do something new every single day from 29 to 30. I, however, am not that ambitious. And, since I enjoy my sleep, I decided 52 new things would be just as good. As much as I would like to do something like zip lining or rapelling every week, unfortunatey my budget and vacation allowance won't allow it. I'll try to fit in as much of that "adventurous" stuff as I can, but really this is about trying new things that I've always wanted to do, or things I've never even thought of. It's my goal to include my friends and family in as much of this as possible, so hopefully a lot of things will include one or more of them. And, even though you might think 52 new things doesn't sound like much, it really is harder than you think to come up with ideas. I want to make these experiences memorable for me, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm very open to any ideas anyone has, because I'm sure I'll never think of everything I'd like to do. So, please feel free to send me ideas, and I'll do my best to fit them in. I'll be scheduling these events from Sunday-Saturday, so it's possible to fit in two new things in a weekend. Hopefully all my weekends won't be busy running around trying to cross things off my list, but if that happens, I'm sure I'll enjoy every minute of it. I'll try to upload as many pics and possibly videos as I can too.

As for this week, you're lookin' at my New Thing #1. I've never actually blogged before. Sure, I send rambling e-mails to my friends, but I've never put my words out there for everyone and their mother to see. So, yes, this is minor, but it's a short holiday week, so give me a break. It's my birthday!

So, feel free to read this once, twice, or hey, maybe even every week. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy experiencing it.
